Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for the cinnamon swirl)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for the glaze)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for the glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  3. Sprinkle in baking soda and salt, then add the flour. Stir gently until just combined—do not overmix.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon for the swirl.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top. Add the remaining batter and sprinkle with the rest of the cinnamon sugar.
  6. Use a knife or skewer to swirl through the batter gently.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool for about 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. For the glaze, combine powdered sugar and milk until smooth; drizzle over cooled bread.
