- 1 loaf (about 1 pound) bread, crust removed if hard
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 eggs
- 2 egg whites
- 1–1/2 cups skim milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 6 cups strawberries, hulled and thinly sliced
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- Pinch salt
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Instructions
- Prepare the strawberry topping by combining sliced strawberries, sugar, salt, and lemon juice in a large bowl. Mix gently and set aside for about an hour.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, egg whites, sugar, cinnamon, skim milk, and vanilla until smooth.
