  • 1 egg (slightly beaten)
  • 1/3 cup + 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 1/2 cups finely diced apples (Granny Smith and Gala)
  • Canola oil (for frying)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugars, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. Create a well in the center and add milk, melted butter, beaten egg, and vanilla; stir until just combined.
  3. Gently fold in the diced apples until evenly distributed.
  4. Heat canola oil in a frying pan over medium heat to about 350°F.
  5. Use a mini ice cream scoop to drop batter into the hot oil; fry for 1½ – 2 minutes until golden brown on each side.
  6. Remove with a slotted spoon and let them drain on paper towels.
  7. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with milk and vanilla until smooth; dip doughnut bites into the glaze.
