Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds beef belly
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions (sliced, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and chili flakes (if using).
  2. Place beef belly in a slow cooker or baking dish and coat it with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight preferred).
  3. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) if using an oven. Cook covered for about 3 hours until tender. For a slow cooker, set it to low heat for approximately 6 hours.

  5. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
