  • 8 cups water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 black tea bags (or 6 teaspoons loose leaf black tea)
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Ice cubes (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat 1 cup of water and sugar over medium heat until dissolved. Add sliced strawberries and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl to extract syrup; discard pulp and let cool.
  3. Boil remaining water and steep tea bags in a pitcher for 3-5 minutes. Remove tea bags and allow the tea to cool.
  4. Combine cooled strawberry syrup and lemon juice with the cooled tea in the pitcher.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving over ice.
