  • 250 g cream cheese (softened to room temperature)
  • 115 g unsalted butter (softened to room temperature)
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 70 g strawberry jam (from above)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 200 g strawberries (finely diced)
  • 7 strawberries (halved for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberry jam by simmering strawberries, sugar, and water until thickened.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. Mix dry ingredients including flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in one bowl.
  4. In another bowl, combine melted butter, oil, sugars, eggs, and milk.
  5. Gradually blend wet and dry mixtures until just combined.
  6. Divide batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. For the frosting, beat softened cream cheese and butter together, then add powdered sugar and cooled strawberry jam.
