  • 200g caster sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 315g plain flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 240ml full-fat milk
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon strawberry extract
  • Pink food coloring
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 625g icing sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease three 6-inch round pans.
  2. In a bowl, beat butter, sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Add eggs one at a time.
  3. Sift in flour, baking powder, and salt; mix gently. Add milk and sour cream.
  4. Divide batter into three bowls: color one pink with strawberry extract, mix cocoa into another for chocolate.
  5. Pour batters into pans and bake for about 30 minutes. Cool completely.
  6. For frosting, beat butter until creamy; gradually add icing sugar. Mix in vanilla and milk for desired consistency.
