Description

One Pot French Onion Pasta is the ultimate comfort food, blending the deep, rich flavors of caramelized onions with creamy melted cheese and your choice of pasta, all cooked in a single pot.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces spaghetti or fettuccine
  • 3 medium yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 45 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups low-sodium vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, add olive oil and sliced onions. Stir occasionally for 15-20 minutes until caramelized and golden brown.
  2. Add minced garlic and stir for an additional minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in vegetable broth and bring to a gentle boil before adding pasta. Stir well and reduce heat; simmer until pasta is al dente (about 8 minutes).
  4. Stir in heavy cream and let it simmer for another couple of minutes to meld flavors.
  5. Remove from heat and fold in shredded Gruyère cheese until melted.
  6. Serve in bowls garnished with fresh herbs like parsley or thyme.
