- 4 boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 6 tbsp cold unsalted butter (cubed)
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 – 2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (optional)
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
Instructions
- Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare the flour coating by mixing flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Heat vegetable oil in a cast iron skillet and fry the marinated chicken until golden brown on both sides.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cold butter to make the biscuit dough; add buttermilk just until combined.
- Roll out the dough, cut into rounds, and bake for about 15–20 minutes until golden.
- For the hot honey sauce, warm honey with red pepper flakes; drizzle over biscuits with fried chicken.
