  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 6 tbsp cold unsalted butter (cubed)
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 12 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the flour coating by mixing flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a cast iron skillet and fry the marinated chicken until golden brown on both sides.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cold butter to make the biscuit dough; add buttermilk just until combined.
  5. Roll out the dough, cut into rounds, and bake for about 15–20 minutes until golden.
  6. For the hot honey sauce, warm honey with red pepper flakes; drizzle over biscuits with fried chicken.
