  • 1 cup finely ground almond flour
  • ⅓ cup sliced almonds (for topping)
  • For Honey Simple Syrup: ⅓ cup honey
  • ⅓ cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Grease an 8-inch round cake pan and line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a stand mixer or using a hand mixer, cream together unsalted butter and sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add vanilla extract, almond extract, and whisked eggs; mix until combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients until nearly mixed; then gently fold in the almond flour by hand.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
  7. Bake for about 28-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. While baking, prepare honey simple syrup by heating honey and water until well combined.
  9. Once baked, cool slightly before pouring syrup over the warm cake for added moisture.
