  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  2. Dissolve yeast in warm milk; let sit until foamy. Mix into dry ingredients with melted butter. Knead until smooth; chill for 1 hour.
  3. Shape cold butter into a flat square between parchment paper.
  4. Roll chilled dough into a square and envelop the butter block completely.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle; fold into thirds to create layers. Chill and repeat twice more.
  6. Roll out the final dough and cut triangles; shape into crescents.
  7. Allow shaped croissants to rise for 1.5 to 2 hours at room temperature.
  8. Brush with egg wash; bake at 400°F for about 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
