  • 15 oz. pinto beans

  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
  2. Sauté diced onions and minced garlic until softened (3–4 minutes).
  3. Add ground turkey; cook until fully browned (5–7 minutes).
  4. Stir in brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper, and tomato paste.
  5. Pour in beef broth and crushed tomatoes; mix in the beans.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
