  • 180 grams powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 45 grams heavy cream
  • 65 grams creamy peanut butter
  • 85 grams dark chocolate (melted, for garnish)
  • 20 grams crushed pretzels (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Sift together almond flour, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder in a bowl.
  2. Whip egg whites in a stand mixer until foamy; gradually add granulated sugar and whip to stiff peaks.
  3. Fold the dry ingredients into the meringue using a rubber spatula until smooth.
  4. Pipe rounds on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes at 160°C (320°F).
  5. Cool shells before filling with whipped peanut butter frosting made by beating softened butter, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and peanut butter until smooth.
  6. Assemble macarons by matching shells and filling them; drizzle with melted chocolate and sprinkle with crushed pretzels.
