  • 1 head broccoli
  • Soy sauce
  • Peanut oil
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Slice the flank steak against the grain into thin strips and marinate with soy sauce, peanut oil, and cornstarch for 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the sauce by mixing chicken stock, Shaoxing wine, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch in a bowl.
  3. Steam the broccoli in a skillet with water until just tender, then set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, cook the marinated beef until browned on both sides. Add minced garlic and ginger to release their flavors.
  5. Return the broccoli to the skillet, pour in the sauce, and stir until thickened.
  6. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
