  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into oval patties about an inch thick.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for about 4 minutes on each side until browned; remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms until tender (about 5 minutes). Add beef broth and scrape up browned bits from the bottom.
  5. Stir in garlic powder and pepper; thicken with cornstarch slurry if desired.
  6. Return patties to the skillet, cover with gravy, and simmer for 5 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes or veggies.
